Copy Seclection evenly along a curve

Recommended Posts

Quick question and I’m sure it’s super simple for the gurus of the group but I’m on the struggle bus with this one.

I’m creating a leather hat patch and would like to cut out the stitch holes around the perimeter of the shape.  In this case it’s a polygon.  I would like 1.5mm x 1.5mm circles evenly spaced around the patch.  I have used power duplicate to go around a circle but can’t figure it out for other shapes.  Is there an option to copy an item around a curve?  Or does anyone here know a better way then doing it manually while having them equally spaced?

An idea : you might consider applying a dotted stroke on a shape ?
