You mean vector object styles?
For example:

  1. select the Default category
  2. export it
  3. delete it from the Styles panel
  4. re-import it so that it's at the bottom of the category list, optionally rename it in case Affinity is explicitly looking for the "Default" name to load.

That seems to do what you want, based on my quick test…

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2

If you mean Text Styles, examine your options in the Text Styles panel when you click the panel options icon ("hamburger" menu). You should find something like "Save as default styles".

Why would the defualt styles package be deleted when an upgrade is made?  I have version 2 and deleted version 1 but now find that I do not have the default styles package for either Designer or Photo.  How can I get them back?

The "default" styles were changed in V2, I think, not deleted. Of course, if you were depending on those exact styles, and hadn't created another copy of them, that's pretty much the same end-result, and a rude surprise for the user. That has happened before, with Brushes, where at least twice a set of Brushes supplied in a release has been deleted by a subsequent release.

Having said that, there are sometimes issues with an installation or an upgrade, that some users have experienced, which are losing information. If you can give us a screenshot of Designer, with the Assets and Styles panels visible, we can perhaps tell if that has happened to you and suggest a fix.

Thank you.  I have just discovered that I still have the original Designer, and Photo, both with Styles.  I have tried exporting them to my desktop and then importing into version 2 but nothing happens!  Any clues?  I have attached a screenshot of Designer 2, but the Styles area looks nothing like version 1, which has the Default tab!

Hi,

Just had another try and it's all there.  Not sure why but it is now showing

Just tried again and this time it worked.  I now have the default Styles from verson 1, on version2.  Thank you for your patience and help.

Terry
