I am eager to upgrade to all three Affinity products to Version 2.

But I do have a question:

I have seen Youtube videos on how to make Books in Affinity Publisher Version 1. How is the Books feature improved in Version 2? What capability doe V2 Books have that V1 Books did not?

Thank you!

In a nutshell, in v1 creating a book needed to be a single file unless you were willing to do the manual work to keep things in sync between multiple files, including page numbers and styles. Doing a TOC or index with multiple files was virtually impossible without a lot of extra work.

In v2, a book can easily be split into multiple chapter files and Publisher will do the work of keeping everything in sync for you.

Whether the new Book feature is something you need to use depends on you, your computer, your book project, and whether you're collaborating with others. If your book works well as a single document and you don't need to send specific chapters to somebody else for editing while you continue to work on other chapters, then it's probably just easier to keep it as a single document. But if your book project is too complex for your computer to handle, or you need to share chapters with others, then the new Book feature will be great for you.
