Raw photos don't develop and go back to being flat

When I have a couple pictures open, and try to develop one of them it seems to reset any change I've made and looks like how the raw did initially. After all the picture develop besides it randomly doing it again. I have a laptop and it doesn't even let develop it because it resets no matter what. I've reinstalled more then twice on each to no resolve

if you close some of the other open windows does the develop work?
