Moving from Affinity 1.x on one computer to Affinity 2.x on another computer

Recommended Posts

Hello …

If moving from Affinity 1.x on one computer (High Sierra) to Affinity 2.x on another computer (Catalina), what is the minimum set of preference or settings files that I need to copy over?

I see there are a lot of files in /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support but what I really want is to just transfer my personalized settings so that I can keep working the way I was.

Other part of the question: Do I have to transfer these settings separately for each Affinity application?

Thanks.

Using macOS 10.13.6 and Publisher 1.9.3

Hi, I'm sure you've figured this out by now but the v2 apps weren't designed to import the preferences and settings from v1 due to the number of changes. I think some people tried to copy things over but most of us used this opportunity to set all of our shortcuts and studio setups from scratch. It took a while but I learned a few things during the process and I like my v2 setup better than v1.

I can't provide specific advice for what files you can move, but if you were doing to do it, yes, you'd have to do it separately for each Affinity app.

Good luck!
