dconti
I have Publisher 2 installed on my desktop and my laptop. I have been using my desktop to work on a document for the past several days with the goal of outputting a PDF file to send to a commercial printer. Whenever I make a change to the file, I re-export it to PDF. Suddenly after one such file update, while trying to export to PDF, I get the error: "An error occurred while exporting to: filename". The files are all stored on a USB drive. I immediately removed the USB drive and connected it to my laptop. Export works fine. I retry on the desktop, no go. Desktop worked fine for hours, then failed but laptop works fine. What might be going on here?
MikeTO
Hi and welcome to the forum. Are you on Ventura? It might the same issue as with saving to an external drive. That's a known issue with 2.0 and Ventura. The issue was also present in 1.10 but was fixed last week so the corresponding fix to 2.0 should be included in the next update. walt.farrell
Have you tried the 2.0.3 beta? It has a fix that may be related. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/175805-affinity-publisher-2-customer-beta-2031670-windows/ Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. dconti
Thanks, I'll take a look at that. On a related topic (PDF output), does anyone know a way to create a booklet with embedded fonts from Publisher? I used to do this all the time with InDesign but it doesn't seem to be available for Publisher. I work with a very small print shop and they don't have a way to rearrange the pages for printing like the "Print/Booklet" option gives me but that utility doesn't have the ability to embed fonts. Last time I had to rearrange it all manually. Also had to disable auto page numbering and put page numbers in manually.
