Rich Litzenberger
When editing text in a large paragraph text frame with the Apple Pencil on my iPad, I tap inside the paragraph text frame to select the text and the app crashes every time. I tried using my finger tip to do the same function and it works fine. I can select artistic text fine. I can also select text in a small paragraph text frame with the pencil. Pencil is fully charged, pencil works fine for everything but that. The only thing different is that the text in the large paragraph text frame was pasted from another app document. outside of that issue, I really like the software. Thanks, Rich
Paul RB
I have the same issue, though in my case, using my finger or a regular stylus in place of my Apple pencil 2 does not fix the problem. I have identified my particular problem as being with linked text frames. Non-linked text frames seem to work okay for me.
Staff Gabe Posted January 10, 2023 Staff Share Posted January 10, 2023 Hi both, Sorry for the delayed reply. This seems to be related to having Scribble On. For the meantime, try turning it off inside the iPad's settings.
Paul RB
Hi Gabe, In my case scribble was not switched on but I tried switching it on then off again to see if it made any difference but I’m afraid not. I have also tried hard-resetting my ipad, reinstalling Publisher and also testing without allowing my pencil to register again first (suggestions from another moderator) - none of which made any difference to the issue I’m having with linked text frames. Thank you for your continued efforts to solve this. Luckily my Mac is not exhibiting the same problem!
Staff Gabe Posted January 11, 2023 Staff Share Posted January 11, 2023 Do you have a sample document (even if it's just filler text) that we can have a look at? Or a screen recording?
Paul RB
There are both samples files and screen recordings here.
