MAS doesn't pick up preferences/presets/brushes from previous Beta

I've asked about this issue in a couple of other threads but there's been no feedback so I thought I'd try putting it in a new thread.

 

When I was using Beta 1.4.1, I changed some preferences and created some presets and a custom brush. When I downloaded the MAS 1.4.1 version, they were all lost and I had to spend a lot of time recreating them.

 

Now, with new Beta versions on the horizon, I'm wondering what to do about these things. Should I make any future changes to prefs and presets in the current MAS version, rather than the newer Beta versions? Will the next MAS version then pick up these changes? If not, can I make a copy of the prefs file from the old MAS and insert it into the prefs folder of the new MAS? Will this take care of the presets too or are they stored somewhere else?

 

I discovered I can export and import brushes, so I presume that's one way to handle brush changes, but it would be more efficient if the brushes were picked up automatically too.

 

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I would create the presets in the MAS version and then export them and import into the beta.

 

Other users have asked for the option to export and import the customised setting and this may appear in a future build.

As far as I can tell, there's no way to export and import presets from any version of the program. I have some presets in the Develop Persona under the Basic, Lens, and Details tabs that I use to tweak my RAW files. I also have presets in the Export Persona for saving PNG and JPG images in several formats that I use regularly. None of these panels have anything in the drop-down menus that would allow me to save, export or import presets. (The brushes, on the other hand, do have "export" and "import" options in the panel's drop-down menu.)

 

When I asked this question on a different thread, another moderator, Leigh, made the following comment:

"It's only possible to back up settings such as Styles, Brushes and Keyboard shortcuts at the moment. The ability to save preferences & workspace settings have been requested before and I'm sure it will be added in the future." This suggests that it currently is NOT possible to export or import presets. If it actually is possible, can you tell me how to do it?
