pjglad
Does AP support/interface with the Canon Print Studio Pro Plugin? Thanks.
Staff Lee D Posted January 24, 2016 Staff Share Posted January 24, 2016 Hi pjglad, I've just done a quick test and I don't believe the Canon Print Studio plugin will currently work with Affinity Photo. It may be down to restrictions on IPC memory use that some plugins violate. See this post for some more info, I'll do some more testing just in case and will update here if needed. Thanks L
pjglad
I do not know what IPC memory restrictions are, but does this imply that Photoshop and Lightroom tolerate this restriction in order to utilize this plugin? Thanks.
pjglad
Should I submit this as an enhancement request?
Staff Lee D Posted February 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2016 Our devs are still improving plugin support within Affinity, hopefully these will allow the Canon plugin to work with in the future.
LouCioccio
Lee D, On the mac side I looked at /Applications/Canon Utilities/Print Studio Pro/Plug-in Install.app <I showed contents> and found Contents/Resources/Plug-In Install.plist Although not a programmer but hacintosh user I wonder if adding to the plist for Affinity Photo would work. Here is just a snippet. <key>PSAppList</key> <array> <dict> <key>DispName</key> <string>Adobe Photoshop</string>--changing to Affinity Photo <key>AppName</key> <string>Adobe Photoshop CS4</string>--changing Affinity Photo.app <key>ProcName</key> <string>Adobe Photoshop CS4</string> <key>PathName</key> <string>Adobe Photoshop CS4 Paths</string> <key>PlugInType</key> <integer>0</integer> </dict> Naturally you would need a copy of Print Studio Pro in case you brick it.
