zpuskas Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 I'm using Affinity V1 (have V2 but need more practice) and all of a sudden my Inpainting brush no longer has the typical circular shape but it's taken on the shape of one of my brushes (a bird). It actually removes the thing I want to remove but shows itself as a bird. Unfortunately the bird shape isn't easy to use (as you can guess). I've deleted all my bird brushes but the problem remains. Any suggestions? Thanks. Quote
GarryP Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 The Inpainting Tool uses Brushes like a lot of the other painting tools. In many cases, this will be the same brush as was last used (however, there are settings to change this). If you want to use a different brush then you need to select one from the Brushes Panel (the basic circular ones are in the "Basic" category). Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 All of those tools are named <something> Brush Tool, and all need you to pick the brush you want to use, especially if you have been using different brushes with other Brush Tools. And perhaps even across open documents. This is influenced by: Assistant Manager, Brush Tool Sharing, which has settings for "smart sharing", "sharing between all tools", and "no sharing between tools" and (possibly) Preferences, Tools, Synchronize tools between documents Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
