PDF edit and export out

Recommended Posts

PDF edit is nice, when it works correctly, still some issues. But what's the deal with importing say a 90mb pdf and then making some edits, export it back out and it's now 950mb+, um what? This shouldn't be the case at all, not just for edits. I get that it is embedding the images it seems, so sure that is the culprit, but then give me a way to gather those from the pdf and make them linked. If I'm importing a pdf, it's because I don't have access to the core files, images, etc. Increasing a file size by 10x is ridiculous, am I missing a setting? Is something else going on?

Oh and still waiting for any chance of this working with ebooks, which I know, seems to not ever be on the horizon, in 2022, wow.

BTW, PDF always embeds images.

Maybe, just maybe, the problem arises if you import PDF with 72 dpi images and on export, if you set the dpi to 300, Affinity resamples them?
