Blank shortcut

Recommended Posts

I'm able to put a shortcut on my Windows 10 desktop by following the instructions given here:

"However, you can manually create a desktop shortcut after installation. Go to Start > Run and enter Shell:AppsFolder and press OK - This will take you to a folder where you can drag and drop a copy of the Affinity V2 shortcut to your desktop."

That works - sort of - and the shortcut does indeed open the program. My problem, although not critical, is that the shortcut is a blank page. When I'm dragging the shortcut from the Application folder it has it's intended look until it reaches the desktop where it becomes a blank page. I guess I can live with it since I know what it is and it works as intended but I'd appreciate knowing how to get the proper looking shortcut symbol back.

My workaround was

1. Extract the MSIX setup using 7 zip

2. using Iconextractor, select the application and extract its icon

3. Save it (I made an affinity folder in my program files and stored it there so I dont alter it by mistake)

4. Right click the shortcut, browse icons, go to your folder and select

5. Save and enjoy :)
