Affinity Icons on Windows 10 Taskbar

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the forums @Fredopolv99

The first thing to try is to change the default Web Browser – on Windows 10, Settings → Apps and Features → Default Apps – and then change it back.
(I know that sounds strange but it often works to ‘refresh’ the taskbar and other UI elements.)

If that doesn’t work then you could try restarting your computer.

If none of that works then get back to us and we can try and come up with other solutions.

I have similar question. I did try changing default browser, icons refreshed, but still have my same issue. (different than OP)

On win10 taskbar I can set my own prog icon by selecting prog properties and change  the icon like has been for years; for all programs except Affinity ver. 2 programs.

Now in ver. 2 of Affinity apps icons on taskbar --- no menu to select prog properties.

Icons with only vague colors and symbols are not sufficient to easily distinguish from the many on my taskbar---so I design my own to add a character or something to easily find the program desired.

How or where in the PC can I find the icon file for taskbar use and change it to my icon .ico ???  See sample .jpg

I have already made Affinity 1 icons to use again.

@Fredopolv99 Exactly same problem here (Windows 11 for me)
Have you fixed this ?

I updated Affinity Apps to v 2.03, restarted my computer, but the problem is still there.

I've a hidpi screen, i suspect it's related

I would also like they bring back the icons at the corner of the file preview that they had < 1.9. You could see the miniature and the correspondent Affinity app icon. Now they're easily confused with images, so now it became more tedious to search for the .af files in the File Explorer.

Also, I can report the apps on my Windows 10 have the same glitch using the 2.0.3. They have this weird black rectangle.
