[SOLVED] Publisher: How to fix weird gaps left-justified paragraph?

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I'm currently trying to make a justified paragraph setting work in Publisher but don't have much success as it keeps making horrendous gaps in my text à la fully justified (but I only have "justified left" ticked on).

Turning on automatic hyphenation doesn't get me anywhere at all, Especially since the worst gaps appear in the headlines that never go anywhere near the margin.

Changing the justification setting from on an individual line basis doesn't seem to  be an option.

Is there some magic setting I can use?

Thanks :D

EDIT: I could totally make it work with deleting all formatting from the text before pasting it.

It still strikes me as a tiny bit worthy of optimization but not much of a headache...

Can you give us a small sample .afpub file that shows the problem?

If not, some screenshots would help.

Hey,

Thanks!

There isn't much to it  – the text was just spaced beyond recognition.

Something I also know from Indesign but there a handy workaround is to adjust the justification on a per-ine basis (I think).

Anyway: Regardless of some minor workflow stuff, the main issue here was some wonky formatting. It all works now.

But there are several things that could cause that, and without a sample (ideal) or some screenshots (less ideal) we can only guess.

Glad you got it sorted out, though.
