Publisher V2 Laggy

In the performance settings, specifically turn off hardware acceleration. That was an epiphany for me (on V1). -

Repair Shop / EULA
Bonteburg replied to Bonteburg's topic in Customer Service, Accounts and Purchasing
Haha yeah thanks! It soon occurred to me that it might have been a bit weird to think about such a thing. Thanks @walt.farrell for the password tip though. That's legit something I haven't thought about in two years of taking my laptop to that shop. -

Hey everyone, OK at the risk of sounding like a complete paranoiac but the license agreement says I can install Affinity on each computer I own and control. I took my laptop to the repair shop yesterday for the yearly cleanup and gave them my computer password to run some benchmark software (I guess), and by doing so, technically waived the "control" part (?) albeit to a trustworthy entity. Just wondering what the EULA experts say to such a constellation. Google, at any rate, doesn't have much to say about that. Cheers, Marco

Bonteburg reacted to a post in a topic: [SOLVED] Publisher: How to fix weird gaps left-justified paragraph?
-
Hey, Thanks! There isn't much to it – the text was just spaced beyond recognition. Something I also know from Indesign but there a handy workaround is to adjust the justification on a per-ine basis (I think). Anyway: Regardless of some minor workflow stuff, the main issue here was some wonky formatting. It all works now.

Hello everybody, I'm currently trying to make a justified paragraph setting work in Publisher but don't have much success as it keeps making horrendous gaps in my text à la fully justified (but I only have "justified left" ticked on). Turning on automatic hyphenation doesn't get me anywhere at all, Especially since the worst gaps appear in the headlines that never go anywhere near the margin. Changing the justification setting from on an individual line basis doesn't seem to be an option. Is there some magic setting I can use? Thanks EDIT: I could totally make it work with deleting all formatting from the text before pasting it. It still strikes me as a tiny bit worthy of optimization but not much of a headache...

WTF. It just uninstalled KB5017262 and the "new document bug" as well as the font bug are gone. It almost seems as if Windows slyly reinstalled that one because I am super sure I uninstalled it a few hours ago, with restart and all. I now put updates on hold for 7 days... Going to keep an eye on Win 11 too and see what stories people tell.

Nope 😳 Here are three crash reports. This is triggering my sleuth instinct... Could KB2565063 also be a problem? I'm asking because it's on the list twice, which seems odd. I also checked for the font list bug and it also is still present. 72f63242-2700-4f36-82ea-74e51b967d1a.dmp 6d57887b-f686-42a9-9d4c-c2167e690397.dmp f07edd7a-40f6-4405-8e3a-4400f7e228d6.dmp

Thanks! If uninstalling that update helps the situation that would be awesome as I had given up on the update as the reason. Here are the sections of my update history that struck me as comparatively recent and contained updates with ".net". in scrolling order. updadtes_003.afphoto updates_001.afphoto updates_002.afphoto updates_004.afphoto
