Hi,

I'd be very grateful for some help please - I want to apply some perspective to text in Publisher (think trapezoid text - a bit like credits in Star Wars), but I can't find the perspective mesh like in the other programs. Is there a way to do this? I want to lay text over an image of a road and want the text to fit inside the road with perspective!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums @Chef41

You can’t do that with the tools in Publisher, unless you want to do lots of very fiddly manual work with the Node Tool.

Photo can do perspective warping but only with raster images, the text will not remain as text.

Try searching the forums for vector warp for some other suggestions.

Assuming you don't want to purchase another app and your text is simple, you can use the Trapezoid Tool to add a trapezoid to fit inside the road with the same perspective.

Then use Layer > Convert to Text Frame, add your text and then adjust the text letters (size and shear) using the character panel.

The text remains editable but this technique is only really suited/practical for small amounts of text that don't need to be 100% realistic.

Thanks Garry - I guess I can play in Photo to get a true perspective but also, huge thanks @carl123 - I think that'll serve my purpose!

Have a great weekend.
