Marcel Zwiers Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I have the same issue. With all .ai .pdf and .eps files.... and already for a long time. Just on my own Macbook pro. Another mac in the studio has no issues. See attached report. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nBdzPRPU6byMCQpAIH6pBTjuDKXb-Hob/view?usp=sharing Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 16, 2022 Staff Posted August 16, 2022 @Marcel Zwiers, I've split your report/post since it does seems bit different from the original thread where you posted it which were related to crashes opening Ai & PDF files (only) on macOS Ventura specifically. From your report you seem to be having issues with EPS files as well and are running Monterey. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Marcel Zwiers Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 That is correct. Even publisher crashes sometimes, maybe always... Highly frustrating because I cannot solve this myself... tried many things I read here. Quote

Marcel Zwiers Posted August 31, 2022 Author Posted August 31, 2022 I was really hoping to find a solution to my problem. Or some tips for me to experiment with... Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 31, 2022 Staff Posted August 31, 2022 Hi @Marcel Zwiers, My apologies for taking so long to get back to you. Can you tell me the full path of the files you are trying to open that are crashing for you please? Thank you. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

The files are on my HD (MacBook Pro), folder or desktop... Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 31, 2022 Staff Posted August 31, 2022 I meant the application path, sorry (not the files path). Where is the app installed? From the crash report seems it's located in an unusual path (see boldened part): Macintosh HD/Applications/• Affinity/ Usually is placed in Macintosh HD/Applications/Affinity Publisher.app Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff MEB Posted August 31, 2022 Staff Posted August 31, 2022 Thanks for the additional info Marcel. Usually/by default the app's file is located here: Macintosh HD/Applications/Affinity Publisher.appSeems you have installed/placed it inside a folder you created inside the Applications folder named "• Affinity". Why the dot? Does you other system have the application file placed inside such a folder ("• Affinity") too? Are the files you are trying to open located inside any folder with non-regular characters in the name as the dot you used for the Affinity folder in the Applications folder? It's possible this is the cause of the crash issues. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Marcel Zwiers Posted August 31, 2022 Author Posted August 31, 2022 I moven Affinity Designer to the Apps folder and it didn't crash... 👍 Quote
