dave.hutmacher Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) In Publisher, it looks like this: After exporting to PDF (for print), images in the same area look like this: I switched from macOS Catalina (where everything exported fine) on an older MacBook Air, to macOS Monterey (12.3.1) on a new MacBook Air M1. I'm using Affinity Publisher 1.10.5. The export was done with the settings I used before (no changes). The part shown in the screenshots (first one in Publisher, second one PDF in Preview) is static and hasn't been changed (template part). Changed parts on the page (new image, new headline, new text) render properly. I tried to update the garbled images - no improvement. Just now, I still have the old MacBook Air and can export from there, but that's not exactly a good solution...! Edited May 5, 2022 by dave.hutmacher Quote
Staff stokerg Posted May 6, 2022 Staff Posted May 6, 2022 Hi @dave.hutmacherand Welcome to the Forums, I'll need a copy of your afpub file in order to see why this is happening. If you could make sure those images are embedded, you can do that via Document>Resource Manager and then upload the afpub file here on the Forums or to our Dropbox here Quote
dave.hutmacher Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 Hi @stokerg, superbly quick response - thank you very much! I've uploaded the embedded-loaded .afpub and the exported .pdf as well, to Dropbox. Quote

I've just tested this on the M1 MacBook Air running 12.3.1 that i currently have access to in the office and the PDF exported fine using the For Print preset (screenshot attached). Do you get the same issue if you use one of the other PDF presets? Quote

The preset I used and which created the garbled images, was originally derived from a built-in preset with a few additions of mine (printer marks etc.), see the attached screenshot. I've always used that one before and it worked fine, until I switched macOS - I can't figure out where/what could have gone wrong here! In any case: big fat thank you for your help - you saved my day and then some!! Edited May 6, 2022 by dave.hutmacher stokerg 1 Quote
