Simply tick Snap to Spread as well as Include spread mid points in the snapping preferences and you will see that the object snaps to the spread (or “page”) mid point as soon as you drag it nearby …  :)

Don’t forget to tick the Include spread mid points option … just wanted to make sure …  ;)

 

(If you have set custom margins, you can also snap to the mid point of the area enclosed by these margins, and the same goes for vector objects, or better, the bounding boxes of vector objects. Hope that helps …)
