Having problems selecting tables

Recommended Posts

I have a master page with a number of tables. I now find that I cannot select the table for formatting. I select and it appears to outline the table but the table formatting is blank and will not work.

Am i selecting the table wrongly ( with the select arrow). If i click on the table tool it tries to recreate another table over the table already there.

The file is attached

Thanks for any help or pointers

This will happen if you are selecting the table on the page it has been applied to from the Master - if you want to edit the table itself (such as the table style) you will need to do this directly on the Master Page :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

Thanks Dan,

That was the problem.

I need to copy and paste data from a Spreadsheet 9 I am using LibreOffice but the same problem when I used Excel).

I found that I needed to format the cell contents ( they were all numeric) in the Spreadsheet before pasting into Publisher file , i.e. set italic, bold, centre in the cell vertically and align to the right.

Appreciate your time as it got me out of a big problem.

Gerard
