romanakisdesign Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 (edited) I bought affinity a while back and ditched it because it didn't feel right but my Adobe subscription has expired and i decided to give it another shot. It is not doing as well and there is a massive issue with the add/pathfinder tool that is used to combine two shapes.. Yes, i have updated today to the current version. The problem... the first problem I noticed is when i make a shape over another shape and i copy the top shape to the clipboard so that I can paste it again. after copying it, I subtract the top shape from the bottom shape, which cuts it out. then I paste the shape back and try to add the two together which should be a perfect fit but it always leaves hundreds of anchor points around the connected area. The second issue with the add tool that I am having now. i created a bicycle tire and made about 100 tread blocks rotated around the tire. when i try to add the tread blocks and the tire together, it does not add, it adds certain points and subtracts sections that don't even make sense. it is happening over and over and over. This does not make any sense at all. And no, i am not trying to add a hundred items at the same time, I am taking one block, and the circle (tire) and trying to add those two shapes. And it is not making any sense to me because i have been using the add tool to build other things, so why it doesn't like the circle and these blocks is beyond me. I'm looking for a remedy because if this is how this program works, I cannot use it in a professional setting. too buggy and fixing its mistakes manually is too time consuming. I'm not uploading images because there is no point. If the staff at affinity want proof, give me an email and i will send a screen recording of the whole process. Hi @romanakisdesignand Welcome to the Forums, If you can send an email to affinitysupport@serif.com with FAO stokerg in the subject and attach your screen recording and also the afdesign file used, i'll be able to try and replicate the issues here and get them logged with the Dev team, if they aren't already.
