Affinity Rat Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 I think the title speaks clear enough. If users chose to set default working outside of Affinity folder then losses resulting from reinstalls et al could be prevented. Quote
Affinity Rat Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 After losing GB of files because of confusion regarding where my files are stored I created a folder outside the Affinity Photo folder. Open a bitmap from the file manager and copy. Open AP, and import from clipboard or paste from clipboard From within AP, “save as” select my working folder. Check working folder for presence of .afphoto file…..its there! Double click the afphoto from file manager, edit click save. Changes not saved! Gear spins for a long time, eventually stops. Double clicking from file manager opens the file, but now there 2 images in the AP gallery but only one file in the directory, the newly opened file does not reflect recent changes saved. Affinity Photo folder does not contain the image. So how to save edits, with file not in Affinity Photo folder. Obviously the app spent a long time trying to save…but didnt! Quote
Affinity Rat Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 It appears the changes are visible when opened from the AP gallery, but those changes not saved even after clicking save. So thats probably why there appear 2 images in the AP gallery one from the saved view and the other with uncommitted changes that cant be saved. Quote
Affinity Rat Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Enough moaning, just have to constantly check if its updating the file I intend, and back it up. Quote
