Borisov Alexey Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 I create a new RGB document and place a star shape there. Then I do export to PNG. In "more" section Mate set to non. Now I save the png file and see no transparency. It can be reproduced in Publisher as well. Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 @Borisov Alexey: In setting up your document, did you check the box for Transparent Background? You can check by using File > Document Setup, and looking on the Color tab. Borisov Alexey Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 Thanks for advice! There unchecked Transparent Background. But then I a have another problem. When I use Export persona there is transparent background (with unchecked option). More of it. When I use Export persona I can't change transparent background to pure white. As soon as I type 255/255/255 it reset to transparent. Quote

If you have a transparent background in your document, your PNG exports will also have a transparent background. But you should be able to set a Matte color. I'm having a hard time understanding (a) what you're doing and (b) what you're seeing. A sample .afdesign document might help, or perhaps better for this some screenshots of the document and of the export options you're choosing. Borisov Alexey Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 So, here is document setup and artboard (01.png). I want to export "A" with solid white background via Export persona. I'm going to Export Options panel and choose PNG. Here Matte is set to none (02.png). I want a white background for Artboard instead of transparent (it should be so, considering my document setup). BUT! 1) I can't set white color in color panel. Instead of white color always appear transparent. 2) Artboard exporting with transparent background instead of white despite document setup. Quote

Are you using File > Export (as I would) or the Export Persona? I think you're in the Export Persona, and if so, exactly what is it you're choosing to Export? We would need to see the Slices panel, and maybe the Layers panel. You might just try File > Export, and export the complete artboard. Borisov Alexey Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 You confusing me. Why do you ask me about File > Export if my last example was clear about Export persona? In Export persona I have a problem: can't select white color for Matte in PNG export options. That's why I can't get white background - it's transparent. Quote

It wasn't clear (to me) that you're talking about the Export Persona. That's why I asked you to confirm. 4 minutes ago, Borisov Alexey said: In Export persona I have a problem: can't select white color for Matte in PNG export options. You're only showing the options, not what you have chosen to export. What do you have in the Layers panel and in the Slices panel? In any case, when I create an Artboard, with an Artistic Text A in it, and choose a white matte in the Export Persona, it works for me, so I'm not sure what's happening that it doesn't work for you. Sorry. Export options: Screenshot of the exported Artboard1.png file: Again, though, for this simple case I would recommend the use of File > Export. But it would be good to get the Export Persona method working for you, too. walt.farrell Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Note that I must explicitly set the matte color to white. I'm not sure why the Export Persona requires that. If I don't set it I get a transparent background to the exported PNG.. Borisov Alexey Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 I'm sorry from my side if I was not clear. Any way, looks like the problem is solved somehow. Now I able to select white color and get it in exported files. Might be glitch in AD. walt.farrell 1 Quote
