jmcsys
Since Apple abandoned Aperture, I am having more and more trouble saving and searching my pictures for processing. It would really be nice to have a storage and indexing system as part of Affinity Photo. It strickes me that such a system would be good for Designer and Publisher as well. A single unified cataloguer integrating the data management needs of all three products would be the most powerful approach to use.
GarryP
This sounds like you are requesting a DAM (Digital Asset Manager). An Affinity DAM has been discussed (ad nauseam) elsewhere, just search the forums for “DAM” (without the quotes). If you don’t want a DAM, could you explain what it is that you want? Arte
If you are looking for a DAM, then iMatch (https://www.photools.com/) might be an option to take a look at, it does support Affinity Photo and Designer files if I am correct, not sure about Publisher but you can run a trial to see if it meets your needs. If you want something that is an integral part of the programs then only Affinity will be able to provide that at the moment as I doubt the Affinity software has the functionality to do this with plugins so that others could come up with a solution. jmcsys
Thank you for responding. Yes I am looking for a DAM. I will look into iMatch. Though a DAM seems like a no-brainer when it comes to Affinity product improvement. But then my viewpoint is now entirely as a customer. But as a retired software engineer I can well imagine that there are a host of reasons why you might not want to go there. Still it feels like a good product expansion.
