Motuscreandi Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Hi, I can't install Photo on my Mac. After downloading and moving the app to the Applications folder, I started the app but after a few minutes this message appeared: "Affinity Photo.app is corrupted and cannot be opened. You should move it to the trash". Thanks in advance for your support Quote
v_kyr Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 From where did you downloaded Affinity Photo, aka a latest release version from the Mac AppStore, or the Affinity Website, or is it instead an Affinity test version? MikeTO Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 @v_kyr I believe they downloaded it from the Affinity website, this is a Safari error. Hi, I think you should delete it and download it again from https://store.serif.com/en-gb/update/macos/photo/1/. Here are some generic instructions for this type of Mac error. https://osxdaily.com/2019/02/13/fix-app-damaged-cant-be-opened-trash-error-mac/ Good luck! v_kyr 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.2, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
v_kyr Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 If it's a Safari only problem then try the Chrome or Firefox webbrowsers for downloading instead. - Or use other tools like "wget" for downloading ... When I launch it, the preflight starts and after a while the error window appears, BEFORE Photo opens. Thanks Quote

I tried the installation on a old MacBook Air with High Sierra. A clarification: I had already installed the app once on this computer without problems, but I had to do a total reset for other problems. Also, on the same MB I just reinstalled Affinity Designer without difficulty Quote
v_kyr Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 MacOS 10.13 should usually be Ok (I still use Affinity apps on an older MacOS 10.11.6 system). - Did you looked for possible High Sierra system updates which might have addressed and maybe fixed such problems? Different crafted installers and thus contents, since APhoto also uses a bunch of third party dependency libs which Designer doesn't (for example everything for RAW development like libraw, lensfun, exiftool etc.).
