michael_designer Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Hello Forum, since a few weeks, our Affinity Publisher produces regulary strong errors while exporting (see pictures attached: pictures from other sites overlap, Logo is distorted, in the middle of the page there is a blank white stripe (wich is not in the document). Last week we formatted the HD and re-installed Mac OS Monterey. After that, the newest version of Publisher was installed from the App-Store. The errors still persist. What can we do now? I also attach a jpg without any errors. (JPG export works without a problem.) Apple iMac (M1) - all newest versions of used software. Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 14, 2022 Staff Posted February 14, 2022 Hi @michael_designer, Could you attach your afpub file or upload it to our Dropbox here and i'll take a look at whats causing this. Also which PDF Export Preset or settings are you using when you export? Quote
michael_designer Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Hello and thank you for your answer. I uploaded the first pages of one of our documents with the described export error and a screen-picture of two of our export-settings (also attached here). - (Both PDF/X-4 and PDF/X-3:2003 produce the errors). Please note: The same PDF-export of the very same files work without any problems on our older intel iMac and Macbook. (We keep them on a external SSD and use them on different Macs.) Quote

Great, thanks for uploading the file. The logo for me is pixelated within Publisher on my M1 MacBook Air. If i go into Resource Manager, make it linked, delete it from the page and then re-insert it, it displays fine. I've not been able to replicate the white bar that you show but i am missing the main background image used on the first page as its linked. If you could upload the image called deutschland_neuschw_allgau-178081.jpg here i'll see if i can then replicate it. I'll be with my Intel iMac tomorrow when i'm back in the office, so will also check this out on there as well Quote
michael_designer Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Thank you for your efforts. Well - I tried to replace all pictures and logo - but still it has errors in it ... (at least it looks a bit cleaner now - the white stripe has moved to the up-side ... - image attached). I will upload the logo and the image as suggested - curious what your M1 will do ... 2.pdf Quote
michael_designer Posted February 16, 2022 Author Posted February 16, 2022 Sadly the errors also occur on different types of documents. It appears somehow like embedded pictures get "mixed up" –> NG_Tiere_Nordamerika (verschoben).pdf Quote
michael_designer Posted February 17, 2022 Author Posted February 17, 2022 I just tried to export one of our documents with a non CMYK-profile (sRGB ICE61966-2.1). This way the export works fine! So maybe the used CMYK color profile (Iso coated V2) might be the problem (?) So for a try, I replaced the folder "profiles" in "Macintosh HD –> Library –> ColorSync –> Profiles" with a "profiles"-folder of one of our older Macs that produce error free exports (with all the used CMYK-profiles in it). But sadly still the old export errors occur. 😪 –> Are there any other places, where I can renew profiles that are used by Affinity during export? Thank you! Quote
