I bought affinity photo yesterday for my new Macbook Pro m1max. Despite the speed of this computer, I see the spinning pinwheel a lot while using affinity photo. I had a tiff file where I wanted to use the 'select sampled color' function. I had a deadline so I used photoshop 2019 on my old 2012 13 inch macbook pro instead who did these actions instantly.

I went back to affinity on the new mac when I was working on cropping a very huge file, which was impossible on the 2012 mabook pro. This was flawless on the new mac in affinity.

What went wrong?

Ps. I see the pinwheel also a lot with other simple tasks.

Hi @MichaelY,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Can I assume that you are running macOS Monterey currently? Which specific version of Monterey is installed?

We're aware of a few issues with Affinity 1.10.4 & Monterey - many of our users have confirmed that updating to the latest macOS version (12.2) have resolved these issues, so I'd certainly recommend ensuring you're on the latest update available.

If you're still having trouble after updating, then our devs have made tentative fixes for these delays in our latest beta version. You can download and install thisĀ alongsideĀ your retail version, so that you have 2 versions of the Affinity app installed at once -

Please do let me know how you get on here!
