Woots Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Heyya, I recently downloaded a trail for Affinity Photo, as I was looking for a student friendly alternative to cracking Photoshop. The software seems really powerful, and certainly does all that I need it too. However I have found that I keep running into this bug where images end up displaying with black boxes in them. I have made a screen recording to show my issue better. I am using an M1 Pro MacBook, and I understand that M1 support is relatively new. But this seems unusable? I am on the latest version of MacOS, as am I on the latest version of Affinity Photo. Affinity Displaying Error.mp4 Quote
Staff DWright Posted January 21, 2022 Staff Posted January 21, 2022 Hi @Woots, Welcome to the forum Can you please try turning off the Metal Compute option in the Performance section of Photo Preferences and let me know if you still have the delay in screen refresh of you image. Quote
Woots Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Hi DWright, Thanks! Sadly that does not fix it no, however I have found that the issue does not appear on RGB/16 or RGB/8, so perhaps this is an issue to do with HDR (being RGB/32)? I would like to be able to use HDR for photo editing and such. But it's not the biggest deal breaker considering I won't be using HDR for web content, where I might be working with a lot of different layers and such. And the content in which I would like to work with HDR usually doesn't involve many layers or moving around. Quote
