Nicolas9 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Hi ! I'm stuck with something on Affinity Photo and looking for great ideas ! I end up with a black background and I can't figure how to remove it. I would like to avoid using selection tools because it gives me unclean results. I'm sure i'm missing something simple. Alright, so this is my current situation : I have an image (Pixel). On top, I have an image from the Light Artefact add-on. The structure panel looks like this : The result I get is as follow : How would you proceed to have the exact same result but with transparent background instead of black ? What I've already try with no success : I tried to select the color with my color picker to remove it. But the option under "Selection" to select current color is greyed. I tried to open the pop-up menu for Blend Modes with the wheel, then play with curves. I managed to remove the black background but then, I just end-up with the first image like the overlay don't exist at all. (Even if I put the image inside the overlay, which seems not natural to me ?) (You can see playing with the curves DO remove the black background but is not giving me what I want - putting the image inside the overlay don't change the result). I also have Affinity Designer if needed. I'll take any precious advice or ressource. Thanks alot ! Good day, Quote
thomaso Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 How about using the blend range options and adjust the curve of the source (the one with the unwanted black)? Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
Nicolas9 Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Hey @thomaso First, thank you for your time and interest, much appreciated. I dont want to have the top layer above the first without black. That i can do ! I want to have the bottom layer INSIDE the top layer. (As I managed to do with black background). But with transparent background. Quote
thomaso Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Right-click the brush image and choose "Rasterize to Mask". Alfred 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
