Ulrich W. Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 I wanted to add a single letter above the left corner of a rectangle, so I clicked 1mm above the left corner and entered 'h'. Of course that was left-aligned, so I changed the text layout to centered. However, to my surprise the 'h' did *not* get centered. Likewise when I tried to move it horizontally, the "alignment clue" is still to the left of the text and not at the center of the text as I would expect. Wouldn't it be more natural if the text would center when I chose centered text alignment, and if so, shouldn't be the center-line be the important horizontal "clue line"? Well, after zooming. in I discovered that a center clue-line actually does appear occasionally when moving horizontally. Quote
Joachim_L Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Welcome to the Affinity forums @Ulrich W.! Just to be sure: Did you use the Frame Text Tool or the Artistic Text Tool? Maybe a video would be good or a sample file, because I have no problems here.
