tdellaringa Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I'm trying to get my 6" x 9" paperback set up to print properly for Amazon KDP. While the specs seem pretty straightforward, there's a couple issues I'm confused about. Here are the specs I need to follow based on their guidelines. We require single page files (as opposed to spreads or 2-up files). I've chosen a trim size of 6" x 9" (15.24 x 22.86 cm) - no bleed Margins for (301 to 500 pages) - Gutter margin (inside) 0.625" (15.9 mm) Outer margin at least 0.25" (6.4 mm) Since they require single page files, it's the margins that are most confusing me. According to their help file for Word, the final page size should be 6.125 x 9.25", so that's the document size. I believe top and bottom margins should be 1". But I'm not sure how I can set an interior/gutter and outer margin if all the pages are single pages in the file. It almost seems like I would have to have a Left and Right page master that had inside/outside margins. But Amazon does no such thing in their Word example. Am I missing something? How can I set up this file to be correct? Quote

You can set up your document to have Facing Pages, but then Export it using an Area specification of All Pages rather than the default All Spreads. tdellaringa, Fixx and the_silver_princess11 2 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
