Publisher tiny text when creating a new, linked text frame

Recommended Posts

Working on a Mac using the latest version of Publisher, I have a text frame and tap to link to a new text frame and draw that text frame, the overflowed text in the new frame is tiny... like, 1.2 or so. If I attempt to select the text and change it to the proper size it also changes the unselected text in the original frame and makes it correspondingly huge. There seems to be no way to select it all and get the same size text. It's not a new bug as I've noticed it in previous versions.

There is a potential user error that can cause that, @Denny.

If you look at the bounding box for a Text Frame, there are corner nodes that you can drag to resize, and on the lower right there is a detached node that will also resize. That one is the rescaling handle, which will also resize (rescale) the text contents of the frame.

If you have used that rescaling handle on either the original or second text frame, you can cause that problem.

There are also bugs, for example if you are working on a file that started as an IDML file or possibly if you started with a .docx file, and did some rescaling in the original application.

Your only recovery method at this point is to Copy the text, and delete the pair of Text Frames. Recreate the frames, without using the rescaling handle, and Paste the text back into it.
