tolefairy
Any way to do this in AD?
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @tolefairy. Punches and stencils are effectively presets for the results of ‘Subtract’ and ‘Divide’ Geometry operations. tolefairy
I had tried those in AD but don't really know what I'm doing so none of them worked for me. lol It was so very easy in CA2. Alfred
Open the attached file and select the top two layers. If you click on the ‘Subtract’ button in the Geometry section of the toolbar, you’ll punch the fairy shape out of the background ellipse. If you click on ‘Divide’ instead, you’ll get another fairy shape between the two layers you selected, but it will be the same colour as the background ellipse (and if you like, you can subtract that one from the background ellipse to give you a punched shape for the original fairy shape to fit inside). The Geometry commands are also available as options on the Layer menu. tolefairy
ok I am stoked! I wanted to use a floral pattern and it didn't work....until I converted the floral image into curves. Then it worked just like CA 2. Brilliant! Alfred
