DigitalOrigami Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Something I'd like to see in Designer: When you need to use a tool that requires a raster layer to work, if there is no existing raster layer, activating the tool creates one. I've been caught every once in a while trying to do something and realizing that I need a raster layer in order to use the tool. Granted, with experience, I'll learn to check and create a raster layer when needed, but having this automated would speed up the workflow. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind if there was no distinction between raster and vector layers and they were all just "layers". I realize there are probably good and necessary reasons for it, but I had a hard time getting my head around the idea at first. Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 26, 2015 Staff Posted November 26, 2015 Hi DigitalOrigami, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) That's how it's supposed to work. Have you turned off the Assistant (View ▸ Assistant Manager...)? You can define how the program behaves in those situations there. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
DigitalOrigami Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 You're right, it does do that. Now I'm wondering what I was doing that was giving me a different result.... Quote
