No. Not at all, not even anything close.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Then what formats can one export to in Affinity Publisher ?

(I'm trying to avoid Adobe's monthly payment system but am ready for Affinity's $66 one time payment)

Same for all three of the Affinity applications.

According to this - Designer is able to open and edit PSD, AI and EPS with relative ease.

I was assuming Publisher - but Designer seems to be able to open simple AI files ?

Yes, but you can't then export anything to HTML format (HTML is a language use to write code for web pages).

In what way are you wanting to use the images?

A designer has created a newsletter in Adobe Illustrator. I need to convert that to HTML for embedding in MailChimp.

You'll be best served by asking on an Adobe Illustrator forum.
