Change color in a transparent PNG with color replacement tool

Recommended Posts

Hi, sorry if this is asked somewhere else but I couldn't find it. I have this transparant PNG with a white logo in it. Would like to change the white to another color. The color replacement tool seems to be the tool to use but when I use it changes the transparent background, not the logo.

How to solve this??

Many thanks in advance.

Hi @Henk_El Welcome to the forums.

There are a few different ways that this can be done, see the list for some of them.

  • Apply a Selective Colour Adjustment, set the dropdown to Whites, uncheck Relative and adjust the sliders.
  • Select > Alpha Range > Select Fully Transparent > Invert Pixel Selection > Switch to Paint Brush and paint new colour within the selection.
  • Apply a White Balance Adjustment > Change to another colour > If needed you can then apply a Recolour Adjustment later as well.
  • Use the selection tools to make a selection around the text > Switch to the Paint brush tool, set the colour and paint in the selection and then Deselect.
