I'm working my way through the workbook and am now at the Mam Tor section.  I have downloaded (I think) the correct resource but I only have 2 images one of which (the .afphoto) has  the Affinity logo in one corner. As i get to "Initial Tone Shaping" p145, "Blend Mode Creativity" p146, and so on until p152, the resources are listed as mam_tor.afphoto(01. etc to 05) I cannot access these resources no matter what I do.  Obviously, as a relative newcomer, I must be doing something fundamentally wrong and my request is simple...can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and what I should do to correct the situation?   I am using the latest version of Affinity Photo.  Please help!

They are snapshots in the Mam Tor .afphoto file, so to access them you need to open the Snapshots panel. Note that the afphoto file is provided to show you the kind of results you should get, not as a file you should work on directly.
