jackson426 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I just downloaded Affinity Designer for some marketing materials. I have a font 'Proxima Nova' that I've purchased and downloaded into my computer. It shows up in Affinity Designer but it will not allow me to use the font in italics. I can use italics for other fonts but not this one. Could really appreciate help. Thanks! Quote
Staff Callum Posted November 10, 2015 Staff Posted November 10, 2015 Hi Jackson426, It sounds like the Font you have downloaded doesn't support italics. Please could you try using the font in a different app to see if you can write in italics there? C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
jackson426 Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Thanks for the reply. It does support italics/works in other text apps. Quote
Herbert123 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Thanks for the reply. It does support italics/works in other text apps. Text apps - you mean word processing software? Those will often fake italics by distorting the regular type face when an italic variant is unavailable. Are you certain you installed the italic variants of Proxima Nova? Quote
joost Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 A simple way to check if you have indeed italics is to use Font Book and look up the font you purchased. It should show you all the typefaces you installed. Quote
jackson426 Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 That is it! Thanks for the help! Quote
