The changes from the previous commercial version are documented in the relevant posts in the “News and Information” section of the forums – see attached image.
If there is no mention of a specific area in those announcements then there probably hasn’t been much work done in that area this time round.

Affinity is still stalling and/or revving up when doing brush work.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

Can you please provide a screen recording showing this issue, and a screenshot from Edit > Preferences > Performance for me please? :)

OK. Yesterday I updated Photo, Designer then Publisher. The brush engine in Publisher-Designer still stalled when I edited any of the brushes (width, variance, stretch, repeat...) I've always had to be patient with myself when working in Designer. But this morning I imported my brushes into Designer only and there is absolutely no stalling so far. HALLELUJAH!!! So maybe it's just in Publisher? Thanks for checking in on me Dan! Really appreciate the responses I get here to any of my problems.

I'm very glad to hear that Designer is working for you - so it's certainly strange this is only occurring in the Designer Persona of Affinity Publisher!

I'd like to try resetting Publisher to default settings, to see if this resolves things for you.

You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open.

Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts, styles and brushes etc.

Once reset, do you still see this freezing when editing brushes please? :)
