MBG Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Dear Serif, I have had great difficulty downloading updates 1.9.2 for both Photo and Publisher. This update is prompted every time I use the programs current version 1.9.1.979 Windows 10 blocks the download as being from an “unsafe publisher”. Having finally succeeded with considerable difficulty in downloading it the .exe file will not run and update the program because there is a “side by side configuration error”. It advises me to “run sxstrace.exe” and start messing with the Windows configuration. I have had no difficulty with the previous five or six Affinity updates which have always installed without a hitch. I have been an enthusiastic user of serif software for many years. This is very disappointing. I have been using Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher for two years. I have a modern PC with Windows 10 Pro installed and all latest windows updates installed Including the C+ updates. All my other software is functioning satisfactorily. I would be obliged if you could advise me how to rectify to this problem, I am very reluctant to start tinkering with the deeper parts of the windows configuration for fear of a major system meltdown. Will update 1.9.3 be along soon and will it overcome this problem? I see from the internet I am not the only one with this difficulty. I look forward to receiving advice on a simple and risk free solution Quote

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. 1 hour ago, MBG said: Will update 1.9.3 be along soon and will it overcome this problem? 1.9.3 is Mac-only, but 1.9.4 should be along relatively soon for both Mac and Windows. However, the issue is probably local to your computer (browser, or anti-virus program, or firewall, or malware-protection, or Windows, or network problem), so it is unlikely (in my opinion) to resolve your problem. stokerg 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
