Crash when drag/drop heic file from iCloud drive to publisher

I tried to insert an image taken a short while before on the iphone into Affinity publisher. I stored this image file on my icloud drive to avoid using photos app.

Upon dropping the file from Finder into publisher, the app crashed. I was able to replicate the problem.

Can you attach a screen recoding of your workflow? I can't replicate this issue here.
