Jim UK
Hi I am new to Affinity having previously used iPhoto and Photos. I am using Affinity so I can edit RAW photos and because Photos has more limited editing facilities than iPhoto had. I would be grateful for some help. After I take a set of photos I would like to be able to view all the new pictures quickly so I can weed out those I do not want to keep. I am taking all photos in RAW format. The photos appear in Photos as thumbnails which does not give me enough detail to decide if I want the photo, but when I try to open them I just get a triangle with an exclamation mark - presumably Photos can only show RAW photos as thumbnails. I can open the RAW photos in Affinity but the only way I am able to do so at the moment is via a slow one by one process. Is there a facility in Affinity that allows me to quickly view all my RAW photos in the same way that iPhoto and Photos allows the viewing of jpegs? If not, is there a free or cheap app. that I can use for this purpose. Many thanks Jim
Staff MEB Posted October 23, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 23, 2015 Hi Jim UK, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Affinity Photo is a RAW converter/developer and Photo Editor. It doesn't manage libraries as iPhoto, Photos, Aperture and other DAM software (digital assets management). There's already quite a few threads discussing alternatives (i've listed some below) and we do intend to launch our own DAM software later too. - Digital Asset Management with Affinity Photo Beta - Digital Asset Manager - a.s.a.p. - feature request: Affinity Lightroom Killer anon1 and manu schwendener 2 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
