Affinity Designer and PDF/X-3

Recommended Posts

I am working with Designer on the design of a board game and I have encountered a problem when exporting the game box to PDF/X-3 format.
This is what I see in Designer, the sides of the box are the same design as the cover, copied as a whole, rotated 90º and encapsulated inside a rectangle the size of the side of the box.

When I export to PDF/X- 3 with the default option of "rasterize unsupported properties", the PDF shows me this:

As you can see the design of the side has overflowed the rectangle in which it is encapsulated and has invaded the cover of the box. I think this happens because the design contains effects such as shadows and Gaussian blurs. Also the folding lines of the box (Pantone+overprint) have had something weird happen to them.
This does not happen if I use PDF/X-4 or print ready (PDF 1.6 and 1.7) but some printers ask for PDF/X-3 (PDF 1.4). I can get around the problem by rasterizing the design before exporting it, but it would be much more convenient to be able to export it directly, of course.

Is this a bug in Designer?
