ADesigner Export selected without background not alpha

Trying to export selected object in Affinity Designer with alpha channel but the output file (PNG, TIFF, or PS) doesn't have the expected alpha channel transparency when imported into another application????

Worked a few months ago. Not working now? Why? 

Note: the objects being exported are graphic rectangles gradient ramps from transparent to opaque.
