IPv6 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Currently copying and pasting pixel data from one layer to another always creates source layer copy. But sometimes this is really unwanted. Are there any way to paste data INSIDE selection in other layer without creating new layer with pasted data? Quote

Unfrotunately this is not the same, comparing to "normal pasting" - Joining kills grouping, Layers Links, etc etc... Also, this is not working the same way everywhere in outline (masks, layers added to other layers, etc...) Quote
kaffeeundsalz Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Ah, I see. You also want to paste into mask layers, nested layers etc. Sorry, I didn't get this. "Merge down" with Cmd+E has indeed the side effects you mention. IPv6 1 Quote
IPv6 Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Answering my own question - this is possible, but cucumbersome. Via spare channels 1) create spare channel from pixel data of source layer 2) load spare channel to pixel channel in target layer For RGB 1-2 should be repeated for each channel // For BW it is easier. But it can be recorded in macro Quote
tantramar Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Just been struggling with this — baffling how this “works”. Also? “cucumbersome” is my favourite new word. 😎👍 Quote
