Assets panel crashes all the affinity programs

Recommended Posts

tried reinstalling publisher and it still crashes when I open the assets panel, no warning no crash dialogue just shuts down, I know it's got to be my personal assets I created that is still somewhere somehow getting pick up with the fresh install. If there are some files left there when I uninstalled it where do I find them to reinstall from scratch. Do I have to reinstall all 3 programs to get rid of the bad asset or is there additional stuff I have to get rid of. Or how do I  do a clean install to get back to the default config.

If you think it's Assets that are the problem, you can easily reset them to the factory default; no need for uninstall, reinstall, etc.

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl key. Keep it pressed.
  2. Start the application
  3. You will get a Clear User Data dialog.  Note; On Windows, you may need to watch the Windows taskbar for the application ison, and click on it before you'll see the dialog.
  4. When you get that dialog, release the Ctrl key.
  5. In the dialog, Deselect All. Then select Reset Assets. Press Clear.

Edit: if I'm not too late...

You can also make a backup of the complete assets file first, in case it works better in a future release. It's assets.propcol and this FAQ will help you find it:
