Serif offers Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher, but no slide show programme (lags in the software not counting here). What about LibreOffice (or similar applications) if you are not able / willing to pay money? Or using a PDF (generated e.g. from Affinity Publisher) as a slide show? It was more about making slide shows more interesting with interesting images, but not how to create a slide show with APhoto. I am sorry for a negative answer.
