Workspace Disappearing - Still visible in Navigator

I've been using Affinity Photo and Designer for a few years now and am very familiar with the products.  Recently though I've found my workspace on both apps to be randomly disappearing so that my artwork / photos are no longer visible in the workspace.  Closing the app and restarting does not help, although completely restarting the computer does.  This has happened with some regularity recently although I can't say exactly what triggers the visibility to disappear.

For reference I have included a screen shot of it happening in Designer.  I have highlighted all the layers so that the outlines of where they should be showing is obvious.  I've also included the Navigator Panel so you can see what should be showing on the screen.

As for my setup, I'm running versions 1.9 of the Affinity Suite on an M1 Mac Mini (Mac OS Big Sur version 11.2.1).

Hi @Bull1500,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Please check you PM's. If you could try a few things/provide a few more details it would help, namely:
- If you disable Metal compute acceleration in Affinity Preferences, Performance section does it fix the issue (you will need to restart the app);
- If the previous step didn't help, change the Display dropdown to OpenGL (also in the Performance section) - does it solve the issue?
although unlikely, did you set the apps (Photo or Designer ) to open using Rosetta?
Thanks for your support.
