Aestivator
Hi, since upgrading to 1.9 I've been experiencing a few bugs, particularly when focus stacking. The second image in the stack displays as pixelated colours and a lot of the colour swtches are doing the same. It wont tackle 16 bit tifs at all. Any thoughts? Thanks, John
Aestivator
I have reverted to the previous version and problem solved.
Staff Dan C Posted February 14, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2021 Hi @Aestivator, My sincerest apologies for the delayed response here and many thanks for your report! I can confirm this is a known issue when running Focus Merge with Hardware Acceleration set to On, my apologies for any inconveniences caused by this. Should you re-update to 1.9 at any time, you can disable Hardware Acceleration under Edit > Preferences > Performance. This is with our developers to be fixed and we hope to resolve this shortly. I hope this helps Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. reinhardneumann
Hi Dan. Thanks for your answer. It certainly helped me as a workaround. Hope there will be a final fix soon since it slows down the process quite a bit. But hey, there is no rush in processing 🙂 Cheers Reinhard
Staff Dan C Posted February 16, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 16, 2021 Welcome to the forums @reinhardneumann No problem at all, glad to hear this workaround helped! I believe our latest Windows Photo beta has resolved this issue, if you're willing to try this you can download it from the below link and install it alongside your retail version, so that you have 2 different versions of the Affinity app installed - You should find that you're able to leave Hardware Acceleration active, both when focus merging and when simply editing a document to speed up rending on your machine. I hope this helps reinhardneumann 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. reinhardneumann
Hi Dan. Thanks for your prompt reply. I have just downloaded the beta you mentioned. Works like a charm in Focus Stacking with Hardware Acceleration on. Great! Cheers Reinhard Dan C
