CMB
I am having problems with hyperlinks. I have a document with only 3 tiles in it, each with a hyperlink. They are: Spider: an image linked to a html video player. When I invoke go to target(gtt) in affinity publisher it attempts to open the file. It fails because of an issue I have with internet explorer (IE). If I could specify that I wnted to open the link in chrome it would solve the issue. Bid docs: This is linked to the mp4 file. When I invoke gtt nothing happens. Test:: This is linked to the mp4 file. When I invoke gtt nothing happens. When I export the file as a pdf no links are found in the output doc. All the referenced files are local on my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled Affinity publisher in case there was a problem with the installation, however the problem remains. Hope someone can advise how to fix this. spider.hyperlink.afpub spider.hyperlink.pdf

What export preset did you use when exporting the PDF file? If, for example, you use a "For Print" Preset then hyperlinks make no sense, and won't be included by default. If you look at the More... dialog during export, are Hyperlinks enabled? CMB
Hello Tks for the quick response. The link are there on export now but they do not work (had the "print" setting selected in the "type" of pdf as you suspected). The path is correct so not sure what is happening. The path is local and valid. I have added an internal link (anchor in the doc) and that works in two different pdf readers. I have set up hyperlinks to the same files in an excel doc. They all work (except the html player) that should open in chrome...but the default route for the hyperlink seems to be set only to use IE. Any way around that? What to do to get the mp4 to open? Thanks again for any help you can offer. C
walt.farrell
It seems to work for me if I select the Hyperlinks Properties option to "Include File on Export". But it does not work if I choose not to include the file. I think there's something wrong there, but perhaps that's what's happening to you, too. You have that option off in your document. CMB
Hello again. I have not been ignoring you! Struggling to sort this out. I have made the URL link to video work (in the go to target) by putting "file:///" followed by the path as the address. But it does not work when I export. If however, I right click on the exported link and copy the address and paste that into the browser the file is opened. The links to files (MP4 and word) still not working, even if I select the export attachments. Where are the exported attachments? I do not see them. Did the previous version have these problems? I wonder about downgrading to v1.8...

If however, I right click on the exported link and copy the address and paste that into the browser the file is opened. Mostly direct local "file:///" references (for opening directly from the local hard disk) would be disabled, it prevents for possible malware execution. Even browsers as default do often block local "file://" access, Chrome for example, until you explicitely change the default setting. For PDFs and accessing multimedia from these take a look at some Acrobat help files, which will tell how those things are generally handled for PDF files (aka what is supported and what not).
